    1. My brother came up from San Francisco, and he brought his dog with him. We became fast friends <3 2. I have been doing many projects during quarantine to keep myself busy. Pictured here>- dried herbs from our garden! 3. I ordered some popsicle molds (yet another project) and the packaging said they were perfect for parties! That's not social distancing, popsicles. (She/Her/Hers/class of 2020/Music/Eugene OR/ Eugene OR)

  • Clarissa Guzman - Time With Family in Sunnyvale, CA: Quarantine Photos by Clarissa Guzman and Clara Posner

Clarissa Guzman - Time With Family in Sunnyvale, CA: Quarantine Photos

    Clarissa Guzman and Clara Posner

First: the picture is of my family, right before we were about to eat homemade curry, rice, and naan. Since we've been on lockdown, my family has been able to spend a little more time together, eat meals together, and try out new recipes. Second: the picture is me (Clarissa) doing homework in our dining room. I have been switching back and forth between doing homework at my desk and the dining room table to switch it up. This is what online learning looks like for me. Thrid: last but not least, I also added a picture of my sister and I on our way to the store with our masks on. This is the new normal. (She/Her/Hers/class of 2022/Sociology and Anthropology/Sunnyvale, CA/Sunnyvale, CA)

  • Darius Goodman - Just an Oversized Yee-Haw Hat by Clarissa Guzman and Clara Posner

Darius Goodman - Just an Oversized Yee-Haw Hat

    Clarissa Guzman and Clara Posner

"This photo is of the hat that represents the small pleasures I've found that help me get through this trying time. I put my oversized yee-haw hat on and all my troubles and concerns simply melt away. At that moment, I'm no longer as worried about the outside world (or more accurately the inside world) because it's really hard to have deep-rooted concerns and voice those opinions with a silly hat on, especially when it's green-screened to look like Ainsley Harriot." (He/Him/His/class of 2023/Undecided/Houston, TX/Houston, TX)

  • Gray Harrison - New Hampshire Quarantine Photos by Gray Harrison and Clara Posner

Gray Harrison - New Hampshire Quarantine Photos

    Gray Harrison and Clara Posner

The first picture is of my childhood friend and I going on a walk and staying 6 feet apart from each other :( it's really hard to not get to hug her. The second picture is of my fellow housemates of WHOA house having a house meeting to check in with each other. We are all so used to coexisting in the same physical space, so meeting online feels really different for us. The third picture is of all the letters I have received while in quarantine. It is so nice to have that connection with people, and although I cannot see them or talk to them in person, receiving letters from friends is a little bit of joy in my day, and makes me feel that they are still with me somehow. (She/Her/Hers/class of 2021/English/Lyme, NH/Lyme, NH)

  • Karah Haug - Looking at My Camera Roll... by Karah Haug and Marcella Lees

Karah Haug - Looking at My Camera Roll...

    Karah Haug and Marcella Lees

"Looking at my camera roll, the lack of pictures, particularly pictures of people, is an accurate depiction of what is being missed during the pandemic. I live a few miles outside of the Black Hills National Forest so hiking has been a reprieve from being in my house constantly. I don't see many people outside of my immediate family and my dog and I spend a lot of time hanging out in my backyard (by myself) when the weather is nice enough. It's hard to believe that we have been away from Carleton so long, but looking at my recent photos, I have very little evidence of other humans, which makes it clear just how long it has been. My pictures are exclusively of my dog and of the landscape from hikes I have gone on. It feels very strange to be separated from the community of people that I have been so connected to for almost three years". (She/Her/Hers/class of 2021/Dance and Environmental Studies/Rapid City, SD/Rapid City, SD)
