Three Dogs Awarded Paw of Courage During COVID-19 (From AKC)
AKC (American Kennel Club)
An award given to animals that are helping people during Covid-19. Therapy animals and helping animals had to change the way they bring comfort and care to people. The way we do our visits is completely changed. Animals play an important role in comforting humans. During Covid-19, a way to do therapy animal work has been revised and experimented with.

Pandemic Collage
Elizabeth Lenora Black
This is a collage I made towards the start the pandemic. When I make a collage I take images I've collected from magazines and other sources and spread them out, picking images that speak to me in that moment. Then I just see what works together, and what compositions are appealing and strike a cord. The two images that are a part of this collage came out to me, and worked well together. It was sort of a shock that that was what I created that day, as I wasn't planning on making a collage about the pandemic. It's also ironic, given that I was looking for toilet paper in town and couldn't find any (as many people couldn't, after stopping at multiple stores). I think it's important, in that it highlights something I think many who lived through it will remember: the initial panic and the resulting lack of basic material needs in stores as many stocked up on them.

Millstream Assisted Living Doorway

This Assisted Living facility really highlighted gratitude to the healthcare workers, both in this sign by the front door, and in a massive sign on the side of the main building.

Welcoming locked door, 3 Links
Susannah Ottaway
This is the front door of the Three Links residential elder care center in Northfield. Look at the mix of signals: the friendly, loving window art behind the sign explaining why people can't come in. To me, this captures the poignancy of the loss of contact, together with the sense of gratitude towards the caretakers who can come and go.
