Description

"As a student with diagnosed depression, I've had an incredibly difficult time motivating myself. The stay-at-home order has been very taxing on my mental health as social interaction was a big part of the typical management of my depression. My family also panic bought and generally has an unhelpful attitude towards the virus, choosing to believe that it is no worse than the flu, will go away soon, etc." A Guide to a Rainy Day was a project inspired by the first two months of quarantine in the United States and the depression Dan experienced during the period of self-isolation to prevent the spread of the virus. (Submitted to a Carleton Photography Class Spring 2020.) Additional Photo Outline: The first photo is of my desk, displaying my workspace during remote courses. The second is a picture which captures the over-purchasing of cereal as it lurks in the background of a shot of a painting.
